In honor of International Human Rights Day, Katrina Lantos Swett of the Lantos Foundation released a short video message emphasizing the importance of speaking out on issues of human rights. Lantos Swett said, “This is the dilemma of human rights activists. We don’t have guns, we don’t have armies, we don’t have great economic power. We have the power of the moral cause that we are trying to advance; we have our voices. And I deeply believe that those very gentle instruments that we have at our disposal can change hearts, and sometimes, can change the world.

The Lantos Foundation is one of the leading independent NGOs that has been fighting for the release of Mikhail Khodorkovsky, among others, and have even produced a short online film examining his case.
