Mikhail Khodorkovsky’s lawyer Vadim Klyuvgant categorically denied that they had received any credible information supporting the speculation:

“I don’t see any content, either factual or legal, in the information that was thrown about last Friday; but what I do see is off-the-scale idiocy, in which each and every word contradicts the other. As Mikhail Khodorkovsky’s defence lawyer, I can say that we have absolutely no significant, let alone official, information about any new investigation, nor any suspicions and certainly nothing at all about  charges, from any investigative authority.”
