Russian newspaper Nezavisimaya Gazeta has reported that Khodorkovsky’s lawyer Vadim Klyuvgant visited him in the prison colony to discuss the August 6 verdict of the Supreme Court.

Klyuvgant said that Khodorkovsky was very surprised by the Supreme Court’s decision and that he believes the appeal filed by his lawyers back in February wasn’t substantially considered.

According to Nezavisimaya Gazeta, Khodorkovsky and Lebedev are going to submit an appeal against this decision to the Presidium of the Supreme Court in early September.

Vadim Klyuvgant commented:

“The document was ignored by the judges. In the judgment text some of the defence’s arguments weren’t mentioned at all. In that tiny part of the judgment, which actually is relevant to our issues, there are objections contrary to everything, including the legal position of the Supreme Court itself”.
