Khodorkovsky calls on the Supreme Court Chairman to overturn the second conviction against him

June 7, 2012

In an open letter addressed to Vyacheslav Lebedev, the Chairman of the Supreme Court for more than 20 years, Khodorkovsky called for the “unprofessional” ruling by the Lower Supreme Court Military Judge Voronov, which upheld the second conviction against him, to be overturned.

“I am appealing to you because the “Yukos case” has acquired a symbolic meaning for millions of entrepreneurs, executives and all the educated and concerned citizens of Russia. Many people all over the world follow decisions in this case,” Khodorkovsky wrote.

He concluded: “Dear Vyacheslav Mikhailovich, you now have an opportunity to start restoring the authority of the court. Please do it.”
