Khodorkovsky’s Lawyer Moskalenko: “I’m Afraid That The Current Government Will Never Want To Treat Khodorkovsky Fairly And Justly”

Karinna Moskalenko

The Russian radio station Echo of Moscow interviewed Karinna Moskalenko, a member of Mikhail Khodorkovsky’s defence team. Commenting on the prospect of Khodorkovsky’s release, Moskalenko remarked:

“I will only believe in it when I will see him free. There has been a lot of speculation regarding a ‘third case’. I know that it has been actively worked on, and, perhaps, the work is still on-going. I am afraid that Mikhail Borisovich has never experienced either fair or just treatment, and I am afraid that the current government will never want to treat Khodorkovsky fairly and justly.”

Alluding to the decision of the European Court of Human Rights last July, which judged, amongst other things, that the first trial of Khodorkovsky and Lebedev was unfair, she added:

We have won the case this year – and it relates exactly to the violations of the right to a fair trial.”

Moskalenko was interviewed on the ‘No Kidding’ program with Sergey Korzun, on November 30, 2013
