Liberation Publishes Khodorkovsky’s “Prison’s People” Series

September 5, 2012

In the Sept. 5th edition of the French daily national newspaper Liberation a two-page spread featuring the “Prison’s People” writing series by Mikhail Khodorkovsky was published along with an illustration of Enki Bilal’s portrait.  The stories published are: “Liosha”, “The snitch” and “The investigator”. These texts were translated from Russian in French by Veronika Dorman, Moscow-based correspondent of Liberation. The title in french is playing with Doestoevsky’s famous book “Crime and Punishment.”  The editors of Liberation write that “these texts give a terrible description of the Russian penitentiary system and of the whole Russian society.”
