Prosecutors Deny Parole for Lebedev

April 30, 2012

Arkhangelsk prosecutors have rejected Platon Lebedev’s appeal requesting parole according to The Moscow Times.

Lebedev’s appeal, questioning the legality of the rejection of his previous request for parole, was filed by his lawyers in Arkhangelsk, the region where he is being held in prison. His lawyers had additionally filed a complaint condemning actions by employees in the prosecutor’s office.

RIA Novosti heard from Arkhangelsk office spokeswoman, Yulia Shevechenko, that her office had no reason to review their previous decision to reject Lebedev’s parole or to investigate complaints filed by his lawyers about employees from the prosecutor’s office.
