UK Lords Raise Khodorkovsky ECtHR Cases

July 23, 2013

The UK’s House of Lords is tonight scheduled to spend 90 minutes debating Mikhail Khodorkovsky’s four cases before the European Court of Human Rights.

Titled “Representations to Russia and other European countries about the Khodorkovsky case at the European Court of Human Rights” the question has been tabled by Conservative peer and Nobel Peace Prize winner Lord David Trimble.  Baroness Warsi is due to give the Government’s response.

The debate is particularly timely given the ECtHR is due to give its judgement concerning Khodorkovsky’s second application on Thursday, July 25.

The proceedings will be live-streamed from approximately 8:30 (depending on House of Lords business) HERE and a transcript will be made available tomorrow morning on the official Parliament website.
