French NGOs To Hold Film Festival on Human Rights in Russia

June 25, 2013

A one day documentary film festival will take place in Paris on June 28, two days after Mikhail Khodorkovsky’s 50thbirthday, in association with the French movie theatre Reflet Médicis.

The event comes during the 2013 French-Russian Year of Film, and will feature five documentaries exploring human rights and the rule of law in Russia including Cyril Tuschi’s “Khodorkovsky”, a film about the death of Sergei Magnitsky entitled “Justice for Sergei” and a film about the murder of Anna Politkovskaya.

Filmmakers, NGOs and the public will come together to watch the films and to discuss the issues raised by them.

The event has been organised by Amnesty International, Reporters Without Borders, Russie-Libertie, Report Arte, the Association of French – Russian journalists and Reflet Médicis.
