The Open Russia team, formed during the 2016 elections, has decided to expand its membership, formalise its structure and outline its further steps.

With that in mind, the Open Russia Inaugural Conference will take place on 12-13 November 2016. The core task of the conference is to approve the documents that will underpin the work of the foundation: the Charter, including the rules for accepting and confirming members, the Manifesto and the Action Plan for the coming years.

12 November at 18:00:

General Meeting of Participants of the Inaugural Conference

  1. Reports by working groups active in Open Russia’s priority areas:
  • Informational and legal support for citizens’ associations in altercations with the authorities and monopolies
  • Public control over the activities of government agencies (in particular the activities of Duma deputies elected in majority districts)
  • Participation in elections to municipal councils and regional legislative assemblies
  • Public control over the media; exposing the lies of official propaganda
  1. Final voting:
  • Election of management bodies by secret ballot (Board, chairman, working group heads)
  • Discussion of the Open Russia Charter, Manifesto and Action Plan, developed in preparation for the conference; voting
  • Adoption of the Action Plan

13 November at 12:00:

  1. Press briefing with the participation of Mikhail KHODORKOVSKY, Vladimir KARA-MURZA, Timur VALEEV, Evgeny CHICHVARKIN
  2. Face time between Conference participants and journalists
