“The Russians President inquiry into the second trial of Khodorkovsky is extremely damming of the country’s judicial procedures. I hope it will impel the Russian authorities to take remedial action, not just out of fairness to Mr. Khodorkovsky and his business partner, Platon Lebedev, but also because it would be a major sign to the international community that Russia is prepared to take seriously her obligations to respect human rights  and the rule of law”
