The Berlin-Hohenschoenhausen Memorial, a museum and documentation center of a former Stasi prison, has chosen Mikhail Khodorkovsky as its highlighted political prisoner for the month of March.

Every month the memorial center introduces the case of a political prisoner in order to ensure they are not forgotten. Regarding Khodorkovsky, the museum notes that “according to international observers the Russian entrepreneur was arrested because of critical political remarks and the claim for democracy in Russia.”
