From April 2013, the well-known Russian journalist Olga Pispanen will become Mikhail Khodorkovsky’s PR representative.

In this new role, Pispanen will be assisting Khodorkovsky in maintaining a dialogue with civil society groups, given his limited opportunities in jail.

Pispanen, who was born in Leningrad, worked for Radio Liberty in Prague in the 1990s, where she was the host of Liberty Live and the cultural programmes editor. From 2000-2001, she was the anchor of the Segodnya newscast programme on NTV TV. Subsequently, she hosted various programmes for Business-FM, City-FM and Kommersant-FM radio stations. From 2010-13, she was the face of the TV channel Dozhd and the anchor of the newscast programme Zdes i Seychas [Here and Now]. She is a member of the board of trustees of the BELA Charitable Foundation.
