Khodorkovsky’s Parents Comment on the Reverse of Lebedev’s Sentence Reduction

September 24, 2012

Boris and Marina Khodorkovsky commented on the court’s ruling that reverses Platon Lebedev’s early release. The prosecutors argued that sentence reduction was “unreasonably merciful”.

Boris Moiseevich Khodorkovsky: “Firstly, it’s a shame when sensible, competent guys, who would benefit the country, are coiling wire and sewing mittens in the camps.
Secondly – it’s been 9 years since they are imprisoned. However no one could prove that they are guilty of stealing the oil. There is no evidence. But they have already spent 9 years in prison. Well, the guilt of every one who is imprisoned for “Yukos” hasn’t been proved. Aleksey Pichugin got 22 years at first, and then life sentence – for murder. But there is no bodies, no dead. Maybe they are alive? And a person still got a life sentence.”

Marina Philippovna Khodorkovskaya: “There is no other words than – mockery, the inquisition, and disgrace to our justice”.
