Mikhail Khodorkovsky’s Letter to Recently Released Vladimir Malakhovsky

October 15, 2012

Mikhail Khodorkovsky has written to Vladimir Malakhovsky following his recent release.

Malahkovsky, the former CEO of Yukos subsidiaries who was sentenced to 12 years in prison in March 2007, testified as a witness during the second Khodorkovsky and Lebedev trial in 2010 calling the charges brought against the joint Yukos owners “a nonsense” and confirming that he had not received any illegal instructions or threats from Khodorkovsky or Lebedev.

Dear Vladimir Georgievich!

I am infinitely glad hearing of your liberation. I regret that your human dignity and refusal to perjure cost you so much. I wish your physical and mental strength a speedy recovery.

Sincerely,

MBK

Platon Lebedev also sent his congratulations to Vladimir Malakhovsky
